Blueberry pie on a beautiful Fourth of July at the Lake. Does it get any better? Can’t take credit for the actual recipe, but since I am not a huge baker, I am pretty happy with how good it looks.

I follow the recipe almost to the T, except I leave out the cinnamon since Andy generally doesn’t like it, and add a tsp. of almond extract instead. I also add up to two extra tablespoons of sugar, depending on the tartness of the berries.
I am supposed to let this one cool for at least three hours, but it is calling my name.
